S1E29 - Murder Hugging

It's Tuesday. We know. Blame Kevin. He forgot to upload this episode. Jesse sent it to him, but Kevin just forgot. So it's Tuesday. But there's an episode, and it's called Murder Hugging! That's intriguing isn't it? Don't you want to know what that's all about? This week Jesse and Kevin talk about mocap princesses, tiny plant people, cinco de quatro, young James Earl Jones, ethical nuance, satan showing up in Star Trek The Animated Series, the weirdest episode of Doctor Who, Queen, murder hugging, standardized testing, news year resolutions, The Brothers Karamazov and other Russian fiction, and burbon. Kevin has written fan fiction about Highlander, The Tomorrow People, and Ghost. You can read it here. Most fan fiction is bad because most everything is bad. S1E28 - Get the Promotions and Die

It's the last episode of Unprepared of 2016! We made it! And by we I mean Jesse and Kevin. You and I know both know that measures of time are pretty arbitrary, and the whole "2016" meme doesn;t actually mean anythign will get better in th new year. But you have to start somewhere. Happy end of 2016 everybody. This week Jesse and Kevin talk about Star Wars. Links Jesse disagrees with, but enjoyed the The Dark Knight episode of Movies with Mikey. Ryan North is the amazing person behind Dinosaur Comics, Adventure Time comics, Squirrel Girl, Project Wonderful, and getting stuck in a hole with his dog. Kevin was involved in an "international incident" because of the Machine of Death Kickstarter. The only thing that Jesse has kickstarted was season one of Put This On. This story about a failed Kickstarter drone is wild. "Coffee Joulies" were a dumb kickstarter that used magic metals to do absolutely nothing to your coffee. Todd VanDerWerff wrote a good Rogue One review with a "confusing" headline. Kevin is going to make Alton Brown's hot cocoa mix and has made his eggnog before. Kevin enjoys drinking batch-pasteurized milk. We discuss a variety of survival shows. Apparently millennials don't buy fabric softener. Listerine invented bad breath to sell mouth wash.

S1E27 - Sexy Cowboys

It's December 23rd. Also known as Christmas Adam (The day before Christmas Eve,) Kevin's Parent's Anniversary, Kevin's Partner's Birthday and Festivus (all true.) Look, what we're trying to say is there's a lot going on right now and Kevin may have had too much eggnog last night. But here's a podcast where Jesse and Kevin talk about Sexy Cowboys. Also It's Jesse's birthday on the 26th, so do something special that day too. Links Ride Austin is a non-profit ride share service. Trump's Education Secretary Pick is into child labor. S1E26 - How Much Raptor?

This week Jesse and Kevin talk about Hobbits kissing, good and bad covers of songs from Hamilton, how to make tea if you're a snob, unpopular opinions about the Yeti ramblers, finding beer on a college campus, weird foods, weird infused vodkas, Kevin's weird collections, cool Christmas presents, and rabid puppies. S1E25 - For Exposure

This week Jesse and Kevin talk about exploiting workers, protecting your privacy, weird copyright situations, movies and tv shows that are objectively bad, and some that are obviously good. Jesse updated how he does the links, so Kevin has even less work to do in describing the episode for these notes. Did you know Jesse edits each episode? And writes the Links section you always find below these notes? All Kevin does is upload the episodes, writes these short blurbs and manages the hosting. And I guess they both keep showing up to talk to each other. So that's where they share the load some. Also Jesse and Kevin both write things in the third person when writing about the episodes. I guess it gives everything a sense of being a part of something larger. Like if they had an unpaid intern who did all the grunt work, and Jesse and Kevin just show up. But no. It's just Jesse and Kevin, doing everything. Links Kevin blocks ads with EFF's Privacy Badger. Jesse blocks ads with Ghostery and 1Blocker. The DECK and Project Wonderful are cool ad platforms. You should not do creative work "for exposure". Jesse is divorced, but his wedding photographers were incredible. Stan Lee doesn't own the copyright for his Marvel characters. Kevin has opinions on copyright that might make Jesse's sister mad. A monkey took a selfie and the copyright got complicated. wikiHow artwork is terrifying and makes for a fun game. Cookin Good was a bizarre cooking show on Austin's public access. The Room and Birdemic: Shock and Terror are good bad movies. Kevin thinks Dude, Where's My Car? is a good movie. (It's not.) Trekkies made fun Star Trek fans. The Middle-Earth canon is complicated. Movies with Mikey made Kevin and Jesse cry about Serenity. Sci-fi universes get weird when authors die. Kevin is currently reading Fluency by Jennifer Foehner Wells and March by John Lewis. Jesse thinks Jennifer Lawrence and Chris Pratt are too attractive to be in space. Jesse finished watching Battlestar Galactica, Luke Cage, and The Crown; is now rewatching Parks and Rec. Parks and Rec "grew the beard" when Rob Lowe and Adam Scott showed up. Unprepared officially recognizes Taiwan as a sovereign entity. Kevin lays out the timeline of the Star Trek TV shows. Bryan Fuller is no longer involved in the Star Trek: Discovery.

S1E24 - Jesse Forgot to Turn on HIs Microphone

It's true, Jesse forgot to turn on his microphone when we recorded this episode. And then Kevin wrote a really funny, and very long shownote about it. (It may not have been that funny, but it was long.) Then the page crashed and it was lost. We give up. S1E23 - The Fruit of the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil

This week Jesse and Kevin talk about some stuff. I'll be honest, It's Black Friday as I post this and I haven't had time to listen to this and write the show notes. I was gorging myself on turkey and mashed potatoes. Let's look at the links below, maybe that will give us a hint. So there's something about apples.
